Before I die is a book about a girl who's slowly dying from leukaemia, blood cancer. She has less than a year left and she has a list of things she wants to try before she passes away. Sex, drugs, saying yes a whole day, getting her parents back together and so on.
It's actually a really good book, not very sad, more like ironic and sceptical. She knows she's dying and she's scared, of course, but there's nothing she can really do about it. I think that's nice.
I did read it in Danish, which means that some of the writers magic is gone. You can never really translate a book just right.
It's a great book. It makes you think about life and makes you realise that every man is so fragile, so weak that almost anything could kill him. It also makes you happy to be alive. It makes you appre-ciate your life because you're still there to live it out.
I give it four stars out of five. ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
