Happy New Year!

Tonight is the night that ends the year of 2010 - from when we started counting that is!
I'm not doing much tonight, I'll be eating a lovely dinner with my family (mother, father and little brother) before we'll relax in front of the TV or the computer, until Dinner for One - or ‘The 90th Birthday’ as we call it in Denmark - come across the screen.

Afterwards we'll go for a walk and look at the fireworks that pretty much start at that point, and then we'll probably count down at 12 and jump into the new year. It's going to be so much fun!

Ballet shoes

Tonight I've been watching Ballet Shoes. It's a film made back in 2007 with Emma Watson in one of the main roles. In my opinion she does an amazing job! She's both cute and serious and very believable in the role as a poor young orphan trying to make the best of what talents she's already got. That includes acting, reciting and dancing.

Doing the Swing

I love these kinds of films. Generally I'm a sucker for dancing films, primarily about classical dance. That includes Dirty Dancing and Centerstage, two very very beautiful and evergreen movies about girls with a talent for dancing. I never get tired of Flashdance either, and Step Up still blows my mind, even though it's old and despite the fact that I've watched it a dozen times! I think it might be because of Channing Tatum in the lead role. He's smoking hot! I'll have to admit that while all of these films all got followers (except for Flashdance) the original is always best!
Dirty Dancing 2, Centerstage - Turn it Up and Step Up to the streets just don't do the originals justice.

But all that aside, what I wanted to conclude with this post was the fact that Emma Watson is one talented young woman. And you should definitely go watch both all the Harry Potter films and Ballet Shoes right now! Go, go, go!

About me

Since this is my very first blog post, I thought I'd write a little bit about myself.
I'm 17 years old, turning the famous 18 this March, and I'm generally pretty happy about my life so far.
I love reading and writing, I participated in National Novel Writing Month this year and I won! What a milestone!
So far I've published two short stories in two short story collections made by Brønderslev Forfatterskole, a writing program for young people in Denmark. You can find them in the Danish libraries.

This wasn't really supposed to be a real blog post, because all I wanted was to write about myself, and I did. So that's really all for know. I will, though, post more, hopefully not about myself!

- Yours sincerely
